Defense & Security 2023 Joins Forces with the National Defense Technology Institute (DTI) to Uplift Thai Entrepreneurs in the Defense Industry to the International Level. The organizer of Defense & Security 2023, prepares to provide support to Thai entrepreneurs in the defense industry to achieve excellence on the world stage and move forward with the Defense Technology Institute (DTI). This is to prepare and invite Thai manufacturers and entrepreneurs to exhibit at the regional defense technology exhibition, “Defense & Security 2023”. It is expected there will be participants from over 480 companies from 45 countries, covering more than 27,000 square meters at the IMPACT Exhibition Center. Under this important partnership, Thai entrepreneurs and manufacturers have the opportunity to meet, negotiate and seek advice on defense technology for further development under the DTI.
Datuk Dr. M Gandhi, Managing Director of GML Exhibitions (Thailand), said “This partnership is an important step in the development of Thailand’s defense industry. Overall, there is significant progress already, but this initiative will attract new quality entrepreneurs into the industry. It will help to further enhance the competitiveness compared with international manufacturers through advanced technology that has been supported and transferred from the Defense Technology Institute.
“Defense & Security 2023 is officially supported by the Ministry of Defense which encourages participation from both Thai manufacturers and abroad. In the event, there are also business matching activities that facilitate meetings between exhibitors and buyers and benefits both small and large Thai entrepreneurs.” added, Datuk Dr. M Gandhi.
General Chuchat Buakhao, Director of the Defense Technology Institute (DTI), said that DTI is an important agency directly involved in the development and support of defense technology for the agencies in the country, both public and private sector, which include Thai entrepreneurs. In the past, there have been many empirical works, such as the Underwater Survey Vehicle (ROV) project, the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Development project, the Research and Development of the Bridge Vehicle Support Vehicle, High-performance Rocket System Research and Development project and many others.
The integration of this partnership will not only promote DTI’s vision to be more concrete but also show the potential of Thai entrepreneurs to be known and able to compete at an international level. This is good for the overall economy of the country according to the government’s S-curve 11 policy, and at the same time, the Defense Technology Institute is ready to become a leader in defense technology research and development in the region and in transferring knowledge and developments to the public eyes and also those in the Thai defense industry and aboard.”
The signing of such partnership took place on May 30, 2023, at Defense Technology Institute.
